description We will present the wireless systems of type WPAN, WLAN, WMAN and the problem with the spontaneous multi-hop networks.
Because of their flexibility and continually increasing speed, wireless communications have experienced increasing popularity, and have become a very important means of communications.

The objective of this course is to describe the concepts relative to this domain, placing the emphasis on access mechanisms, mobility, as well as service quality support and radio engineering. On the other hand, aspects such as reglementation and the use of frequency resources will be dealt with by situating them in their national and international contexts. By dealing in depth with these concepts, we will review the principle standards for WPAN systems (Bluetooth, ...). and WLAN systems (Wi-Fi, 802.11g/a/n, ...) and WMAN (WiMax, IEEE 802.16, ..). We will also deal with the problems of autonomous networks. We will present the characteristics, the constraints, the applications as well as the principal mechanisms which are used for these networks (routing, self-organisation, energy savings, security).
